John Payne, or Paine, son of Stephen and Hannah (Bass) Payne was born September 21, 1666 at Braintree, Massachusetts. [1][2]
John married Jan 20, 1688/9, Deborah Neale, born Sep. 1, 1667, daughter of Henry & Hannah (Pray) Neale, the service was by by Mr. Peter Thacher.[1]
John and Deborah were admitted to full communion Nov. 20, 1698. He was elected surveyor of highways in 1703. Removed to Lebanon, Conn., sold his homestead in Braintree on Jan 21, 1706/7. John and Deborah Payne were admitted to church at Lebanon, Conn. Nov. 23, 1712. John died Feb. 1755 at Lebanon, Conn.[3]
