Biography

Edward John Osborn was born around 1877, the son of Isabella Alice (Barber) Osborn and Robert Henry Osborn.^{[citation needed]}

He married Priscilla Mary Braddy in 1903 in Victoria.^{[citation needed]} Their children were:^{[citation needed]}

• Alfred William Osborn (1904–?)
• Dorothy E Osborn (1917–1983)

Edward died in November 1955 in Yallourn, Victoria.^[1]

Edward worked as a labourer on Ferguson's farm at Woodstock and this is where he met his future wife Prescilla. They married and lived at Woodstock then moved to Derby near Marong and eventually to Maidstone in Melbourne.

Edward and Prescilla moved to Gippsland after their 5th child.

Edward it would appear was a mean sort of a person? The following story would support that belief:- 'When his son Albert went off to serve in WW2 he left his belongings and stock in the care of his father, Edward Upon his return Edward refused to return any of the property to Albert This caused a major fall out between them.'

Edward died after he was kicked in the head by a horse. There may have been some sweet revenge here, as the story goes:- 'When his son John joined the army in WW2, like his brother, left his horse called Prince in the care of his father Edward The day John retuned he saw his father attempting to hit Prince with a shovel. This didn't please John who promptly took the shovel to his father.' ^[2]

He was buried in Hazelwood Cemetery, Hazelwood, Victoria, Australia. ^[3]
