I'm very interested in the immigration of the Pilgrims and Puritans and how they settled the country, as many of my 8th, 9th, 10th great grandfathers and families traversed the wild sea to settle the New England. The history of how they fought for political and religious freedom is fascinating, and how their children moved west to settle the land. One is bound to find royalty and scoundrels in their heritage (sometimes they are both). This all makes for interesting learning which can lead down many intriguing paths, especially with the wealth of knowledge available today on the internet. Oh! And isn't it wonderful to be able to share information about relatives we have in common!?

Hi Diana,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

I want to be sure the additions I've entered in my tree are private until I have put the source material in so that others can be confident about the new people I've taken from Family Search.  How do I make it all private until this is finished?

Hi Diana

Click on the privacy tab and change the privacy level to private (red padlock) and then when you are finished change the privacy level back.
