Isabella O'Connor was born in Ireland, possibly Listowel, County Kerry, in about 1838. Sometime before 1860 she came to New York supposedly with her maternal grandfather Reid and sisters, but no passenger record has been found.
On 1 Jul 1860 (license dated 30 June 1860) she married Henry Morton, an immigrant from Scotland, at St Joseph, Sixth Aveneue Catholic Church in Manhattan New York. He was listed as 30 years old and residing at 182 Grand Ave in the church record. Isabella was listed as 21 years old and living at 181 Hudson St. The witnesses were Patrick Meara and Mary Ann O'Connor.

Listed between Mary Connor a 24 year old seamstress from Ireland [and the same person who was a witness to her marriage two weeks before?] and Francis Morton, a 30 year old clerk from England [Is this Henry with the wrong first name? There were many people in the dwelling, so it is possible someone else gave the info to the ennumerator.] Note that Hudson St, the address on the marriage license was in the 5th Ward of New York.

Research Notes
Daughter of Agnes Reid and Unknown O'Connnor
According to family story she came to the United States in 1860 with her Grandfather Reid and her sisters. Arrangements had been made for the girls to marry wealthy Italians. Isabelle met Henry in the hotel where they were residing as they were opening the windows in their rooms across from each other.
Marriage records for the sisters have not been found in New York or New Jersey around 1860
Mary Ann O'Connor was a witness to Isabella and Henry's wedding, and Mary Connor was listed with them in the 1860 census, so was likely a sister
Buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, San Mateo, California. No headstone on grave. According to cemetery records one was never installed. Apparently this was common in this area/timeframe of the cemetery and there was originally a cement frame visible around the grave with the name on it.
