Biography
Chester was born in 1912. He was the son of Joseph Neibert and Blanche Disert. He passed away in 1930.
ARTICLE : BOY IS KILLED AS HE TOUCHES ELECTRIC WIRE - Chester Neibert, 15, Electrocuted Near Shady Grove
CHESTER N. NIEBERT, 15 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Neibert, of near Waynesboro, was instantly killed when his body came into contact with a power wire of the Northern Trolley carrying 33,000 volts about a half mile south of Shady Grove at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
The youth, who is employed on the farm of William Elliott, near the scene of the accident, climbed a pole which supported wires used to supply current to the trolley cars. As he reached the top his body came into contact with the wire and a moment later, his clothing in flames, Neibert was hurled to the ground.
Witnesses said the youth was dead when they reached him and the flames from his clothing had set fire to a clump of bushes into which he fell. His body was horribly burned before the flames were extinguished.
The youth is survived by his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Wilbur Neibert and Mrs. Arthur Pryor, of Waynesboro, and Hazel, Florence, Mildred, Richard, Bruce, Warren and Harold Neibert at home. He has many relatives in Hagerstown and Washington County.
The funeral, which will be private, will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of his parents. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. The body may be viewed from 7 to 9 p. m. Saturday.
