Biography

If anyone can provide additional Information about Charles, it would be appreciated. The only records I have of him are from Census' in 1920, 1930, and 1940, and the copy I have of the Wayne County Record from May 7, 1943. I am unable to locate any birth, marriage or death records.

Charles enlisted in the US Navy in August 1941. In 1943 the Wayne County Record shows him as a Motor Machinist's Mate 2nd Class and assigned to Motor Torpedo Boat (PT Boat) Squadron Ron 8, which was assigned to the South Pacific. This squadron saw action in the New Guinea waters as well as Aitape, New Briton and the Philippines.
