Birth and parents : Catherine (Myers) Bowers was born about 1758 in Muhlbach, Pennsylvania, daughter of Johan George Myers Jr (~1730 - ) and Catherine (UNKNOWN) Myers (~1735 - ). (Source needed. Refer Research Notes.)

Marriage : Catherine (~13) married Jacob Adam Bowers (~21) (1750 - 1807) in 1771 in Rowan, North Carolina, British Colonial America. (Source needed.)

Research Notes

Birth and parents : Some discrepancies are noted :

• The assertion that Catherine was born in Muhlbach, PA, appears to arise from the assertion on the profile of her husband, Jacob Bowers, that he married "Catherine Ream Meyer". This is probably a reference to Catherine Meyer b.1751 in Muhlbach, whose mother is asserted by some sources to be Susan Ream. However, that Catherine married John Meyer and lived in Centre County, PA.^[2]
• It is unlikely that Catherine was born in 1758 and married in 1771 aged 13. More research is needed to clarify whether either of these dates is correct.
