Joseph was born about 1787 in North Carolina.
Joseph married Matilda Goss on 18 January 1809 in Greene, Georgia, United States.[1]
1850 Federal Census, Joseph Moore, age 62, home Division 59, Merriweather, GA, Joseph head of household with wife Matilda, son John 29, son James P 15, daughter Virginia 6.
1860 Federal Census, pg 120, Joseph Moore, age 72, home Merriweather, GA, Post Office Jones Mill, family #828, Joseph head of household with wife Matilda, son John 39, daughter Virginia 16.
He wrote his will in 1852. His will lists sons: Joseph T Moore and Charles S Moore; and daughter Elizabeth E Halt (wife of Robert Halt).[2]

Moore-23988 and Moore-17562 appear to represent the same person because: Joseph Moore and Joseph V Moore are the same person..same birth date, same spouse, same children, marriage date is off by one day and one year but there are several marriage records supporting 18 Jan 1810. The death date is the same as well as the same death place.
