Paul was born in 1924. He was the son of Oliver Moody and Grace West. He grew up in Cambridge, Mass, attending Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. He enrolled in Northeastern University prior to enlisting in 1942 along with his older brother. They both completed air pilot training at the Tuskegee Air Pilot School in Tuskegee Alabama, earning their wings on May of 1944. [1]. Upon completing his service, Paul finished his education at Northeastern, earning a degree in Chemical Engineering. He went onto complete a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from MIT.[2]
Paul was the owner of Omega Systems, Inc., a toxic waste company, and the first African American owned company to win rubbish removal contracts in Boston. He was active in the NAACP, Urban League and Freedome House. He passed away in 1998 and had requested that his remains be cremated and scattered in Italy near the location where his older brother, Roland, had died while serving as a Tuskegee airman. .
