The Biography is not correct: Thomas Montgomery b 1822 married Margaret Rutherford information found on their son Thomas born 1845 marriage certificate. There is no record of Margaret's birth or Thomas and Margaret's marriage found online.

They had one son Thomas born 1845. There was not a second son called Robert. The Robert who was suspected to be their son came to New Zealand on "The Dauntless" with Thomas born 1845 It has now been proved Robert was not Thomas born 1845's brother. No death cert for Margaret has been found she never came to New Zealand.

 Thomas born 1822 went on to marry a second time to Barbara Duncan and had John b 1869, Henry b 1871 and Arthur b 1877 as recorded here.

 I am Thomas born 1845 great grandchild and I have matched through DNA the grandson of John b 1869. I also match through DNA the great great granddaughter of Arthur.

Biography

Thomas was born in 1822 in Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Ireland. He married Margaret Rutherford. Margaret died in 1857 and was buried on 2 September 1857 in Wanganui-Putiki, Wanganui, Rangitikei, New Zealand.^[1] In 1864 Thomas lived in Pubble Townland in Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Ireland.^[2] He married second Barbara Duncan who was born about 1837.^[3]

He passed away 14 Jun 1889 in Lisnaskea, Aghalurcher, County Fermanagh, Ireland. Thomas's will was recorded on 11 Aug 1900 .^[8][9]
