Biography

Anne was born about 1430. She was the daughter of Nicholas Montgomery and Eleanor Cheresey. She married John Agard of Sudbury, Derbyshire.

She and her husband were given lands and tenements in Sudbury by her father, a gift which was disputed by her nephew Nicholas Montgomery (1449-1494). On 11 August 1473 the arbitrators John Curson of Kedleston and Nicolas Fitzherbert of Norbury Esqs decided that Anne should hold for life the said lands and tenements (except that Nicolas Montgomery should take the issues and profits of a tenement in Sudbury, 14s a year pasture called the Halle Orchard, 15s a year parcel of the land called Rickards Thing, 8s a year, and a close called Feny Croft, 6s 8d a year) paying 4 marks a year to Nicolas Montgomery.^[1]

She died in 1498.
