George Mixon served with Marion's Brigade, South Carolina Militia during the American Revolution.

George Mixon is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A080832.

George Mixon, planter and Revolutionary soldier, son of William and Frances Mixson, was b. in North Carolina, probably Craven County, ca. 1748, d. probably in Orangeburg District, S.C., before 1810.

In 1785, he sold his lands in Kershaw County left him by his father, moved down to the south fork of the Edisto River, Orangeburg County, just over the line from Barnwell, and obtained several tracts of land totaling over 1000 acres.

From information known and found, evidently he had married about 1775 and had following children:
