Arthur Mitchell is Notable.

Arthur W. Mitchell was a United States Representative from Illinois. He was the only African American in Congress for his entire congressional career, from 1935 to 1943.^[1]

Arthur Mitchell was born in 1883. He was the son of Taylor Mitchell and Amma Patterson.^[2]

In 1905, he married Eula Mae King.^[3] His third wife was Clara Dare Smith Mann, whom he married in 1948.^[2]
