Lauretta (Mitchell) Kelk was born in Yorkshire, England.

Lauretta was born on January 3, 1876, in Keighley, Yorkshire, England. She was the daughter of Mary Mitchell (no father mentioned on Baptism Register, or England Census of 1881). Lauretta was Baptized on May 14, 1876, in Keighley, at Saint Andrew Church. She was presented by her mother, Mary. In the 1881 Census, Lauretta is seen with her mother, and brother, William, residing in the household of Grandparents, William, and Mary Mitchell. By 1991, her mother had married Joseph Ashton. Lauretta resided with her mother, and new step father until her marriage in 1905. On September 9, 1905, Lauretta married Thomas Kelk in Keighley, at Saint Mary Eastwood Church. The couple would have three children between 1905, and 1914.

Lauretta passed away in Ewecross, West Riding of Yorkshire, England, in 1950.
