Biography

Johann Heinrich Miller was born in 1743 in Frederick, Province of Maryland, son of Abraham Miller (1707–1754) and Frances Butler (~1702–>1754).

Johann married Catherine Bigler (born in 1743 in Frederick, British Colonial America; daughter of Marx Bigler and Catherine (Bigler) Miller). Their son was Jacob B Miller (1781–1832).

Johann died on March 11, 1793 in Frederick, Maryland, United States, aged 49. He was buried in or in West Va. He may be buried in Union Cemetery.

  1. Peter, born 19 June 1802, in Dunkard Twp, died 20 Mar 1834, in Greene Co., or in West Va. He may be buried in Union Cemetery, near Stewart Town, West Va. He married Barbara Miller, born 19 Apr 1805; died 25 Apr 1892, the daughter of Jonathan and wife Susanna (Tombs), and the granddaughter of Henry and Catherine (Bigler) Miller who was the daughter of Mark and Catherine Bigler. In the settlement of Peter's will, which was filed for probate 16 Apr 1834, Peter was said to be "late of Dunkard Twp" and the will was filed in Waynesburg Greene Co., Pa. It was filed by Lewis Miller and Samuel Monroe. The executor was Jonathan Miller. The widow was to receive all personal property and 1/3 of the proceeds of the sale disposing of the remainder. 5 daughters were to divide equally 2/3.
