Biography

John Miles was a South Carolina colonist.

John Miles, born 26 November 1719, was the son of William Miles and Mary Martin.

He married first Ann Butler, daughter of Thomas Butler and Elizabeth Elliott. They had one daughter, Ann (m. Joseph Anger). Ann Butler Miles was buried 23 April 1746.

His second wife was Sophia Sarah Guy, whom he married 7 March 1751. They had no children before she was buried 2 February 1752.

He married third Anne Fitch, daughter of Jonathan Fitch, on 9 September 1753. They had nine children: John Fitch, Edward, Frances, William, Susannah, Rachel, Sarah (m. John Bay), Elizabeth, and Jonathan.

John Miles died 11 November 1772.
