Researcher Paul Delaney believes that Joseph and his family, who were residents of Village Pierre LeBlanc in 1755, were deported from Grand-Pré even though he does not appear on Winslow's list. His absence could be explained by the fact that he was probably an Acadian deputy. They were not in their villages when the survey for Winslow was taken. The total number of deputies, 37, was added by Winslow at the bottom of his list, without their names. [2] Joseph, Marguerite, and their children Jean-Baptiste, Marie-Marine, Simon, Amand and Anastasie were deported aboard the Sally & Molly to Virginia in 1755 and from there were exiled to Southampton, England around 1756.
