Biography
Mary was born December 11, 1849 in Upham Kings New Brunswick. She was the daughter of Hugh McLaren and Elizabeth Megarrity. She worked as a teacher prior to her marriage. On April 2, 1883 she married Michael Richard Daly. The ceremony was conducted by Reverend S. Jones Hanford. Michael Daly was born October 2, 1842. The couple had 2 children, Samuel and Ernest. In 1891 they were living next door to Michael’s brother Samuel in St Martins, St John, New Brunswick. Michael was a farmer. By the 1911 census, Mary’s husband had passed away. Samuel was now head of the house working as a farmer and his brother was a carpenter building houses. They were taking care of their mother Mary. Mary passed away May 9, 1915 at her home in Fairview, St. Martins and is buried at the Mosher Hill Cemetery in New Brunswick, Canada.
