Julia was the first black person hired full time by a Dallas Newspaper (Dallas Morning News). Reed wrote a column, The Open Line, for the Dallas Morning News for 11 years beginning in 1967.
Julia (McGee) Reed was born on 17 Jul 1917 in Kaufman County, Texas, USA, daughter of Nina Belle Eubanks (1898 - 1972).
In the 1950 census Julia, Servant, was the wife of Jack W Scott in Dallas, Dallas, Texas, United States.[1]
