Biography
John McClatchey was born in 1835 in Pennsylvania.
About 1860 in Illinois, he married Delilah Rue. They had at least 3 children, including Minnie (McClatchey) Orvis (abt.1874-1936).
John, his wife "Lilah" (Delilah), both age 50, his mother: Elizabeth McClatchey, age 90, plus several children & grandkids, were all recorded living on his and Delilah's farm in Delaware Twp., Delaware County, Iowa, on the 1895 Iowa State Census. He was a "Farmer". His daughter, Minnie, age 18, & her husband Frank Orvis, 24, were among the family recorded there. [1]
John McClatchey passed away in April 1904 in Rock Creek, Pine, Minnesota, USA.
