Biography

Thomas was born in County Clare, Ireland in 1854. He was the son of Owen McCaw, a farmer. He emigrated to Australia with his siblings Michael and Ellen. His sister Bridget also emigrated to Australia and then on to New Zealand. All three of these siblings had died by 1878. At some point he moved from Sydney (where 2 siblings died from typhoid fever) north to Bellingen in NSW. He never married. He passed away in 1913 in an accident when an iron rod fell on him. ^[1]
