Hi Lindsey,

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention those profiles need.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up gedcom biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Hi Lindsey,

Thank you for your contributions to WikiTree!

Just a quick reminder that when we enter profiles for our pre-1700 ancestors, we ask for better sources than an "unsourced family tree".

Could you please take a few moments to review the Pre-1700 Quiz and the explanations about the sort of sources WikiTree is looking for, as well as this very handy list of sources which are considered "not quite good enough" before you add any more pre-1700 profiles without adequate sources?

Thanks!

Dave

Hi Lindsey,

It looks like you are interested in profiles for people who lived in England. I recommend joining the England Project. They even have an onboarding process that will help you learn about all kinds of sources. You'll need that if you want to work with the pre-1500 profile that you just adopted.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Debi

Hi Lindsey,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

I have always been very into my ancestry. I have been working on all my family's genealogical information since I was like 12 years old. Now, I am engaged and have started working on my fiance's side.
