Rosella Kathryn Mayer was born on November 30, 1917, in Juneau, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Arthur Mayer and Matilda Brophey. She married Russell Allen Erdman on October 21, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa. They had at least two children during their marriage. She died on July 29, 1994, in West Allis, Wisconsin, at the age of 76, and was buried in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
