Parents disputed as there is no source for this relationship. Thomas Marshall and Mary Cotton, of Abbot’s Ann, Hampshire and Downton, Wiltshire, had a daughter, Elizabeth Marshall, born about 1574. Nothing further is known about her.^[1]

FamilySearch query of Elizabeth Marshall, born between 1570 and 1575, returned 14 primary sources. Only one had father= Thomas, but that Elizabeth was christened in London in 1575. None were from Buckinghamshire. Extending the query to 1565 returned an additional 6 records, none of them our Elizabeth.

An Elizabeth Marshall married on on Nov 4, 1591 in Newport Pagnell, BuckInghamshire to Robert Potter.^[4][5] There is no known connection between that Elizabeth Marshall and this Elizabeth Marshal, daughter of Thomas Marshall and Mary Cotton (assuming an appropriate source is found for her existence).
