Joan was born in Darling Point, New South Wales, Australia during 1910. She is the daughter of Walter Moffitt Marks and Florence Sanford. She passed away in New South Wales during 1968.

Joan was born in Darling Point, New South Wales, Australia on 14 May 1910.^[1][2] The following birth notice was published in the New South Welsh newspaper, The Sydney Morning Herald, on 28 May 1910:^[1]

MARKS.—May 14, 1910, at Culwulla, Mona-road, Darling Point, Sydney, the wife of Walter Moffitt Marks—a daughter.

Joan married Hugh Charles Westmacott in Woollahra, New South Wales on 29 February 1944^[3] The following marriage notice was published in the New South Welsh newspaper, The Sydney Morning Herald, on 2 March 1944:^[4]

WESTMACOTT-MARKS. - February 29, 1944, at All Saints' Church, Woollahra, by the Rev. G. A. Conolly, Joan, only daughter of Mr. Walter M. Marks and the late Mrs. Marks, of Woollahra, to Hugh Charles Westmacott, second son of Mr. Charles Westmacott and the late Mrs. Westmacott, of Clifford Downs, Carrathool, N.S.W. Australian, British, and U.S.A. Press, please copy.

After Hugh's death in 1960, Joan married a man with the surname Sloane.^[5]

Joan died in New South Wales on 1 August 1968.^[6][7]

Joan was buried at the Waverley Cemetery in Bronte, New South Wales.^[8]
