The daughter of Nicholas Marchal and Marie Elizabeth LaMielle of Petitmagny, Madame Fougeron immigrated with her husband and many children while pregnant with her 7th child, Francis Fougeron, who was born safely in Buffalo, NY.
Christening
BORN: 30 April 1797
BAPTISM: Marie Anne Marchal was born on 30 April 1797 according to her baptismal record from the civil archives which is different from the date on her tombstone by one day and one year. However, in the other French Napoleanic calendar, it is 11 floréal de l'an V de la République Française. which calculates correctly for her birthdate. As for the one year difference on her tombstone, it's a common mistake for American tombstones to be a year or two off as the stone was erected by her children. Her birthdate, birthplace and parentage confirmed by her marriage record.
Madame Fougeron help raised her orphaned Doll grandchildren, after her daughter, Marie Françoise passed away suddenly.
Place of Death
Marianna Marchal Fougeron died at the family homestead on Walden & Adams Street, Buffalo, NY (which is now called Fougeron Street).
Burial
United German & French Cemetery. Pine Ridge Road, Cheektowaga, NY.
