Hi Nelmari , 😊

I’ve noticed that you have South African Roots like me, may I give you some tips for South African research on WikiTree?

I'm so glad to see that you have already joined the South African Roots Project, and sub-projects! Besides links to sources, there are help pages that might also be useful. Many / most of the South African genealogical lines and profiles of the eighteenth and seventeenth periods (and earlier) have already been made. Many have also been validated with primary sources. Please sign all contributions with your name and the date.

A few handy links:

In the South African Roots Project we have a standards/guidelines ~ a particular one is to please use the correct location name as was used at the time of the event. Another one is name fields on profiles.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Happy tree climbing

Biographies of all persons created by me will be provided before projects are completed. All created persons or family projects undertaken by me are requests from family members of created persons and can all be linked back to me via personal relationships with said family members. My hobby and work of love to friends and family. But very very "green" still so I so appreciate all the advice from experienced researches. Thank you so much and please correct me at anytime.. An absolute Labor of love

Hi Nelmari,

A warm welcome to WikiTree. You are now a full member and can add your family to the big tree!

Click here to start with our New Member How-To Pages. They will save you time, energy and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Hope you enjoy WikiTree as much as I have. You never know when you will find a lost family member or ancestor. Or maybe find a hidden family secret about an ancestor. Genealogy to me is like being a detective looking for clues into the past.

Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile as the links will work from there.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm always happy to help!
