"John F. Maple
John F. Maple, 74, retired farmer and long-time resident of the Bluff Hall community died at 9:30 a.m. Monday (Oct. 16, 1978) in Maple Lawn Rest Home in Palmyra, Mo.
Mr Maple was born Dec. 2, 1903, in Ralls County, Mo., a son of Jasper Newton and Vera Daring Maple. He married Clara Margaret Keil, Feb. 8, 1925, in Fall Creek Township. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December, 1975, at an open house in Bluff Hall United Church of Christ, hosted by their children. They were members of the church. Mr. Maple entered the rest home on Aug. 26, 1978.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Marion of Loveland, Colo., Claude of Lompoc, Calif., Ronald of Plainville and John Jr. of Farber, Mo.; three brothers, Vernon and James, both of Hannibal, and David of the state of Washington; four sisters, Mrs. Carl (Mary) Muehring of Hannibal, Mo., Mrs. Raymond (Vera) Huffman of St Clair, Mo., Mrs. Omer (Susie) McCleery of Bushnell and Mrs. Wesley (Florence) Blohm of Galesburg; 16 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren,; four great grand-grandchildren,; and several step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert; a brother; and a granddaughter.
Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. William R. Schafer. Burial will be in Bluff Hall Cemetery. . ."
