Biography

Martha is first mentioned in her father's 1601 will, and she was probably born about 1599.^[1]

There is a record of her burial in the New Malton parish records. She was buried 17 April 1603, which was Palm Sunday of that year. "Martha Mansfield daughter to John Mansfield Esquire deceased, buried the 17th day of April being Palm Sunday 1603."^[2]

In his 1601 will, Martha's father, John, mentioned his "house in Malton," Yorkshire, so it's likely that John's wife, Elizabeth, still owned the home at the time of her daughter, Martha's, death, in 1603.^[3]
