Hello Cousin Mac, my grandmother was a Main. I just wanted to tell you, you definitely look like a Main. You look very much like my great Uncle Art, jr. You must be closely related.
Hi!

Just checking in with a few quick tips:

Free Space pages are wiki pages for supplementing your family history. They can be used to profile anything of significance such as a special pet, a meaningful event, a school you attended, a family heirloom .... They're "anything pages".

Not sure what to include in a profile? Check out our Biography Ideas and Styles and Standards help pages.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

Do you have any questions I can help with?

Hi Mac! I'm glad you found us, and I'm glad you'll be helping us make sure all profiles have proof (quite an uphill challenge!). WikiTree also has a DNA project that you might want to look into.

To become a full member (aka Wiki Genealogist), please sign the Honor Code. For a list of helpful links, click my name and check out the links I list under my "Greeter" section - especially the Sources links and links to my fellow greeters Debby and Maggie, who have helpful information on their profile pages also. If you get stuck on anything and can't find an answer in WikiTree Help, you can post to the G2G forum or give me a holler.

Thank you for joining our collaborative tree!

Enjoy!

I'm a 74 year old who got interested in

family history in 1999. I always thought I was a Main of German ancestry but learned through DNA testing with FamilyTreeDNA.com that I am one of the probably English Stonington CT Main descendants.

I had a couple elderly aunts who were LDS members who taught me to look for proof so that is why I got involved with the DNA testing.

Many online postings show Ezekiel Main born 1641 to be English, but there is NO PROOF. The Main surname project at FTDNA.com is looking to find a Main/Maine/Mayne in the United Kingdom that has dna test numbers that match those of us that are sure we are descendants of Ezekiel Main born 1641.
