Biography

Sarah Mackworth, daughter of Arthur Mackworth and Jane Andrews, the widow of Samuel Andrews[1] was born about 1642 in Casco Bay, Maine. Sarah's birth date is based on her father's marriage to Jane Andrews being after 1638,[2] [3] and that her sister, Rebecca was the eldest daughter.[4]

By the year 1665, Sarah was married to Abraham Adams[1] of Boston.[5] [2] Sarah and Abraham returned to Boston about 1667 where they had 6 children:

  1. Sarah born about 1666 [5]
  2. Abraham born 11 November 1667[6]
  3. Jane born 22 February 1669 [7]
  4. Mackworth born 17 April 1672 [8]
  5. Isaac born 10 November 1674 [9]
  6. Zachariah born about 1676 died 16 May 1703 [5]

Sarah passed away in Boston about 1678.[1][10]

The "Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire, Volume 1, pages 58-89" which is attached, or can be found on FamilySearch.org (https://www.familysearch.org/library/books/records/item/36247-genealogical-dictionary-of-maine-and-new-hampshire-vol-1?viewer=1&offset=0#page=72&viewer=picture&o=info&n=0&q=) states that Abraham Adams married 1st by 1665, Sarah Mackworth, dau of Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Jane.
