Hans took over the søndre Løken farm in Askim after his father in 1650. In 1653 Hans inherited the Nordre Rud farm and in 1669 he took a mortgage on the whole Nordre Rud farm. In 1679 rural mayor Hans Iversen was appointed as gu ardian for his sister's son, Ole Ellefsen of the nordre Løken farm and moved there.
Hans had large economic difficulties when he lived on søndre Løken, and it wasn't better when he took over nordre Løken. In 1692 he sold all the farm property in nordre Løken to Truls Engebretsen on Skårberg in Spydeberg for 220 rdl. Hans continued to work the farm until he died in 1699, but now as a tenant farmer.
Hans Iversen had been one of the largest farmowners in Askim. Skifte 9 nov 1699 Bygdelensmann i Askim, hadde i utgangspunktet store eiendommer, men han klarte ikke å holde på rikdommen og døde sterkt forgjeldet.
