Biography
Lionel Oscar Lukin was born on 4 January 1868 in Condamine, Queensland, Australia, the son of Annie (Magovern) Lukin and George Lukin .[1] [2]
He was educated at private schools in Roma, Brisbane (Brisbane Grammar, 1879 to 1883) and Gympie.[1]
He married Catherine Alicia Rennick on 9 September 1893 at All Saints Church in Dara, Brisbane, Queensland.[3] Their children were:
In January 1934 he was appointed as the first judge of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory, and he remained the Territory's sold Judge of the Court until November 1943 when her retired due to ill health.[8]
Lionel died on 1 June 1944.[1] [9] His remains were interred at Lutwyche cemetery, Brisbane.[10]
