William was born on 22 June 1944 in Hinsdale, DuPage, Illinois. He was the son of William Lukens and Gertrude Barker.

William married Helen Grace (Knight) Martin about 1968. [marriage record needed] William and Helen did not have any children, but Helen had four children from her prior marriage. William and Helen were married for 43 years.

According to Find-a-Grave, William was an electrical engineer at Lockheed Missile & Space in California before retiring.

William's wife, Helen, died in 2010.

William passed away on 6 October 2013 in Wareham, Plymouth, Massachusetts. He was laid to rest with his wife, Helen, in the Center Cemetery in Rochester, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.^[1]
