Thomas Loweth (bachelor) married Mary Crane (spinster) at St Lawrence Church in Long Buckby, Northamptonshire on 24th Feb 1824. The witnesses were Andrew Brooks and Sarah Eyre.

Research Notes

Long Buckby is a long way from Stamford and the surrounding area of Peterborough. It is situated halfway between Northampton and Rugby. It maybe the marriage took place here because Mary Crane came from this parish.

So I am sure that Thomas is the son of Esau Loweth & Lucy Brown. That he was born in 1799 and married Mary Crane in 1824 from whom he had 4 children, Emma (1830-1836), Stephen (1832-), Selina (1835-1836) and Harriet (1838-1915). When his wife Mary died in 1840 he then married Henrietta Barfield in 1842 and had 5 more children, William (1843), John (1845-1845). Lucy (1849-1849), Letitia (1850-1939) and James (1851-1925)

Henrietta was stepmother to Harriet, born in 1838 and baptised in 1846.
