john Lovejoy was born on 11 Sep 1789, the son of Jacob Lovejoy and Sarah (Rollins) Lovejoy.[1] His birth is recorded on that date in the vital records of Fayette, Maine,[2] which in 1789 was known as Sterling Plantation and was part of Lincoln County, Massachusetts.
Marriage
On 29 Dec 1809, the town clerk of Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts) certiifed that "an intention between Mr. John Lovejoy and Miss Salley Parker, both of Livermore, hath been entered with me fourteen days prior to the date hereof and hath been published in Livermore as the law directs."[3]
Death
John Lovejoy died on 11 Nov 1854, and he is buried at the Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, Maine, where his gravestone gives his age as 64 years, 2 months.[4]
