Biography

Anne Lor was born 5 April 1705 in Port Royal, Acadia to Alexander Lor dit La Montagne and Françoise Barillote. She was baptized there the same day. Her godparents were Maurice Vignot, carpenter and Anne Girouard.[1][2]

Anne L'Or, daughter of Alexandre L'Or and Françoise Bariot married François Como, son of Pierre Como and Jeanne Bourg 22 February 1724 at Port Royal, Acadia.[3][4] [5]

Their known children were:

  1. Marie Anne Comeau (Aug 25 1725 – after Aug 17 1789) .
  2. Maurice Comeau (before 1732 – Jun 17 1786) .
  3. Marguerite Comeau (before Apr 12 1733 – unknown) .
  4. Marie Madeleine Comeau (about 1735 – Sep 2 1816) .
  5. Elizabeth Comeau (about 1737 – Aug 22 1799) .
  6. Salvatore Comeau (about 1738 – after Mar 7 1807) [uncertain].
  7. Charles Comeau (Apr 7 1740 – Dec 28 1820) .
  8. Francois Comeau (about 1742 – Dec 28 1826) .
  9. Elisabeth Comeau (about 1745 – about Jul 14 1821) [uncertain].
  10. Anastasie Comeau (1746 – Jul 5 1817) .
  11. Joseph Comeau (about 1747 – Jun 7 1801)

In 1752 François and Anne were living in Chipoudie with 5 boys and 4 girls.[6] They were recorded again in Chipoudie in 1755 with 5 boys and 3 girls. [7] [8]

Anne passed away before 23 August 1756. She was listed as deceased in her son Maurice's marriage record. [9][10] She passed away in Annapolis Royal. [citation needed]. It is more likely that she died in Chipoudie after 1755 where she was recorded on the census, or on Ile Saint-Jean or on the way there. Widowed François and his children Élisabeth, François, Anastasie and Joseph were aboard one of two ships that left Ile Saint-Jean around 30 September 1756 and arrived at the port of Québec around 18 October 1756.
