Greetings Poland Project member! Thank you for your interest in the Poland Project. We have new information and updates:
The Poland Project is a collaborative environment for others to preserve their family history. For the last several months, the Poland Project has been undergoing new organization with new volunteers. We are excited about how the project can enhance Wikitree!
We have several different task teams that need volunteers. Please take a look at this page to see which one interests you: Volunteer Tasks. Once you have decided which task team you would like to work on, please reply to this comment.
The only requirements for ongoing membership in the Poland Project are that you join a team, work with your Team Leader, respond to the periodic check-ins from the Project Leaders/Coordinators and help the Project satisfy its goals. We recognize that people lead busy lives and are grateful for any and all contributions you can make.
Once you have joined a team, please join the Poland Project Google Group to receive project updates and participate in project and team discussions.
If we don’t hear from you in the next 45 days, your membership badge will be removed. In this case please don't be offended as you're welcome to rejoin at any time. Please also note, that in order to receive help researching your Polish ancestors, membership is not mandatory. Just ask your questions in the G2G forum and tag them with Poland_Europe or Polska in order for our knowledgeable researchers to see them.
We're working on categorizing villages for the area of Hohensalza Kreis and Inowrocław County, so as you see them added, please update any profiles you may have to help us out. Thank you for all your contributions! Poland Project - Skye
I sent you a message a couple of weeks ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well!
If I don’t hear back from you by the end of April, I will assume you no longer wish to be a member of the Germany Project and I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.
The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.
Are you currently working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? If not, take a look at our main Project page for a full list. We recently launched a new Profile Improvement Team and are seeking new team members. Let me know if you’re interested.
We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.
Thanks for all the work you accomplished during our Connect-A-Thon 2020. It is amazing how many more profiles were created and added to our Shared Tree. You have every right to be pleased with your efforts!

Shawn, I have to ask you now to stop "correcting" profiles I manage. You are adding inferior data without first asking me or others working on the lines, discussing it in G2G, and apparently without seeing the complexities here. You are also deleting data that I have gathered from primary sources. You are also creating profiles for people already in the tree, and then attempting to merge them into other profiles that do not necessarily agree with what your tertiary source says. It is preferable to have a discussion with others, rather than changing their data without explanation. It may be much of your compendium is right, but it doesn't answer threshold questions. It is making this a much bigger mess.
Yes, I think it is much better not to make a profile using speculative data. Putting it into another profile, as a comment is better than creating a profile with no b/d. bp. parents etc. This is a one world tree in which we want everything documented as well as posslble. It is not a mass of data, hodge podge, that may or may not be accurate. Spend your time filling in what you can prove, with original or primary sources. While 95 year old genealogies may be helpful, they couldn't document as we can now. The real data is much more available now than it was for them. Use the actual marriage record, with the town and date. That would be helpful.
Shawn, I have to ask you to slow down on what you are doing with the Hendrick family. That genealogy, which may have a lot of good data, may also be wrong. There are a lot of known flaws in it. You are creating some duplication that will have to be painstakingly corrected using primary sources. Whenever you are putting up data like you have, born about 1725, with no place name, this is highly questionable. When you are adding someone new, like Stephen Bushnell, don't just plop him in there like this. Find out who he was, his parents, his place of birth, using primary sources. Do not stop, just go slower and in more depth, not relying on tertiary sources that may well be wrong.
You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week so I am checking in to see how it is going. The New Member How-Tos are for you to work at your own pace. If you had time to look, were they helpful?
I'm here to help with questions about how WikiTree works. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page. I'll get back to you by the end of the day.
