Biography
Martha Lewis was born on June 1, 1806, in Bath County, Virginia. (Frazier says 1806, Find a Grave says 1805). She was the daughter of John Lewis and Rachel Miller.[1]
Martha married James Addison Cochran Sr. on May 1, 1823, in Bath County, Virginia.[2] They had nine known children - Magdalene, John Lewis, James Addison Jr., Rachel Miller, Harrietta King, Lucy, Robert, Samuel A., and Virginia Barber.
Martha died on August 8, 1841, in Augusta County, Virginia, at the age of 34. She was buried at Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Churchville, Augusta, Virginia.[3]
