Biography

Lois Lee is a descendant of a Mayflower Passenger.

|passengerID= https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Chilton-11 |passengerName= Mary Chilton (11th ggmother)

|passengerID= https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cooke-36 |passengerName= Francis Cooke (12th ggfather)

I have been interested in genealogy for about 20 years now, using mostly ancestry website and family search website. When I found this website I saw that there is a lot of missing profiles that I had found on ancestry and family search. So I joined to add to it. I have so enjoyed learning about my ancestors and where they came from finding my way back to 1500s in the Forbes, Browning and Cole's on my Mother's side. On my father's side- only back to mid 1800s on his father's side, Schodschenska, and late 1700s on his Mother's side Enders. I will enjoy filling in the blanks on this genealogy website.

Here is my line to Mayflower ancestors.

I am descendent of James Chilton, Mrs Chilton and Mary Chilton. (12th GGparents and 11th GGMother. Also Francis Cooke. (12th GGFather);

Lois Lee(me), Lovina Browning, Arzella Forbes, Beatram Forbes, Frank Forbes, Absolom Forbes, Jasper Forbes, Libbeas Forbes, Absalom Forbes, Phebe Leach,

Hepzibah Washburn (descendent of both Chilton and Cooke),

Hannah Latham, Susannah Winslow, Mary Chilton, James Chilton,

Cooke Descendents to Hepzipah Washburn; Jonathan Washburn, Elizabeth MItchell, Jane Cooke, Francis Cook.

Hi Lois,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources).

Thank you for your comments. I am glad that there is more strict rules for sources in the pre 1700 profiles. I know a lot of my tree on ancestry is without sources and so don't really know for sure about ancestors so nice to know that if profiles go back that far that there will be a source on wikitree.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Welcome Lois!

Thanks for volunteering! I am pleased to confirm and welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration. Don't be afraid to ask questions in our G2G forum and get involved as much or as little as works for you. Be sure to check out the tabs at the very top right hand side of your profile, there is lots to discover!

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do!

Happy tree climbing
