Gertrude Frances Layman was born on 14 March 1922. Her birth was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1922 in the Hackney district of London, England.[1] She had a twin brother, Cyril David Layman (1922-2003). Her parents were Morris Layman and Fanny Fishbein. Her Hebew name was גיטל פרידא בת משה Gittel Freida bat Moshe.

In 1939, Gertrude, age 17, was living with his mother and siblings at 107 Green Lanes, Stoke Newington, London. She was a gown finisher.[2]

Gertrude married Simon Feldman (abt.1923-2012) in 1945. Their marriage was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1945 in the Willesden district of London.[3]

Gertrude died on 12 March 1992 and her estate passed probate on 21 May 1992 in London. At the time of her death, she was living at 58 Fleetwood Road, London, NW10.[4] Her death was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1992 in the Brent district of Greater London.[5] She is buried in Bushey Jewish Cemetery, Bushey, Hertfordshire.[6]
