Research Notes

There are two King Laphams listed in the “Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the War of the Revolution” this one and another listed as King Jr. There is a long paragraph listing the service of Lieutenant King Lapham of Marshfield & Pembroke, and a short one that of Private King Lapham Jr. of Pembroke. I haven't yet identified the younger, who could be a nephew. Given this one's marriage in 1764 it seems unlikely he had a son who served in 1777. [6] King Jr also appears on pg 449 as a 'Lampham'.

The record of Benjamin's marriage to Content Barker on 26 Sep 1763 appears on the same page as his brother King's marriage to Content's sister Lucy a few lines up.[7]
