Bessie Stanford Land was born on 11 February 1897, daughter of Joseph Henry Land (1842–1925) and Sarah Matilda Richardson (1857–1925).[1]
Her siblings were:
- Raymond Warren Pratt (1874–1953)
- Elsie Lillian Pratt (1888–1928)
Bessie died on 30 July 1978, aged 81. She was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina.[2] [3]
In 1910, Bessie (13) was living in household of Joseph H Land (67) in Irisburg, Henry, Virginia with her parents, Joseph H (67) and Sarah M (52); and her siblings, Bessie S (13), and Elsie G Pratt (21). [4]
Bessie married Lewis Carr Allen in 1922 in Rockingham, North Carolina.[5][6]
In 1930, Bessie (33) was living in household of Louis C Allen (37) in Graham, Alamance, North Carolina with her father, Joseph Henery (4); her children, Louis C (37), and Louis C (1); and her sister, Bess L (30). [7]
