Ned Lamont Jr. is a Connecticuter.

Edward Miner Lamont Jr. is an American businessman and politician serving since January 2019 as the 89th governor of Connecticut. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as a Greenwich selectman from 1987 to 1989 and was the party's nominee for the United States Senate in 2006, losing to incumbent Joe Lieberman.

Edward Lamont Jr. was born 3 Jan 1954 in Washington, DC. He is the son of Edward Lamont and Camille Buzby.

After graduating from Yale, Ned entered the cable television industry.

Ned married Ann Huntress 10 Sep 1983.[1] Ann is a venture capitalist and managing partner at Oak Investment Partners. They have three children.

Ned started his political career as a Greenwich Selectman in 1987 and served on Greenwich Finance Board. In 2006, he won the Democratic nomination for US Senate, defeating Incumbent Joe Lieberman in a primary,[2] but Lieberman was re-elected in the regular election when he ran as an Independent.[3]

In 2010, Ned ran for the Connecticut Governor election, but lost to Dannel Malloy in the Democratic convention.[4] He ran in 2018 when Dannel Malloy stated he would not run again. This time, Ned was successful and became 89th Governor of Connecticut, starting January 9, 2019[5] and is still serving after winning re-election in 2022.[6]
