The Burgersdorp Baptism register records that Levina Catharina Willemina Kruger was baptised there on 11 Apr 1869, born 2 Feb 1869. Parents Johannes Abraham Kruger and Huibrecht Jacoba Johanna Coetsee. On the marriage certificate shown here the bride, the widow of Kruger (NOT born Kruger), signs as Coetsee. Heese (p.500) shows f1 Johannes Abraham Kruger marrying Huibrecht Jacoba Johanna Coetsee. When she married Lessing he was 44 and she was 26. [3]
Another profile, now merged here, gave her the maiden name of Coetsee. The note above suggests that her prior husband was surnamed Coetsee. This is the same surname as that of her mother.
