Biography

Reubin was born in 1883. He was the son of Reuben Kitson and Dora Vaughan.

Reubin married Beatrice Haig Anderson in 1915.[1]

Reubin enlisted in the Royal Navy in 1918 [2][3] He was posted to the Royal Naval Air Service, at Rosyth. On 1 April 1918 he was transferred to the RAF, as a Corporal, then on 30 April, sent to Blandford. This was a site in Dorset, which had recently be changed from being the training camp for the Royal Naval Regiment to an intake camp for the Royal Flying Corps, the being converted into the RAF.

On 30 May 1918 he was posted to RNAS Felixtowe, which operated flying boats. Then, 30 June 1918, he was posted to Marine Branch at Aberdeen, and to No. 20 Balloon Base, Caldale, Orkney. At that time, the unit flew kite balloons from ships, to observe the fall of shot. From 28 September to 1 October he was aboard HMS Canning, a Kite Balloon Ship.

He was discharged to RAF Class G reserve on 8 February 1819, before being finally discharge on 30 April 1920.

He died 30 December 1945. At that time his occupation was given as Wollen Goods Merchant.
