Marquis L. Kenyon, Democrat of Rome was elected to the Assembly on 8 Nov 1860. He represented the 3rd District, Oneida County, New York.[1]
Marquis L. Kenyon was elected to the Assemby by about an 800 majority.[1] He was listed in NY in the War of the Rebellion. [2]
Earlier, Kenyon was chosen as a delegate to the "Adamanine" State Convention, which was held on 12 July 1854 in Syracuse, New York. [3]

Marquis L Kenyon was born on September 15, 1817 in Brownville, Jefferson, New York, United States, son of Samuel Kenyon (1790–1878) and Susan Cross (~1792–1832). He was one of the older sons in a family of ten childen.
He (30) married Harriet S Brainard (25) (born on December 13, 1822 in Norway, Herkimer, New York, USA; daughter of Levi Brainard and Sophronia (Doty) Brainard) in 1848 in New York. Their daughter was Henrietta L Kenyon (~1849–1926).
Prior to his election to the Assembly, Kenyon was a major architect, along with John Butterfield Jr., son of John Butterfield, Sr., of the Overland Trail. He selected routes and locations for stage stations. He surveyed the route from New York to California acquiring whatever equipment was required. [5]
Marquis died on March 27, 1862 in Rome, Oneida, New York, aged 44. He was buried in Rome Cemetery, Rome, Oneida County, New York.[1]
