== Biography ==
I was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1949 but grew up Tyngsboro, Mass a small country town. My father was very proud of his service in WWII and from a young age I wanted to be a soldier. After graduating from High School in Lowell, Mass I spent a year working locally before joining the Army in 1968 the week I turned 18. I enlisted to become an avionics repair tech however while marching to class a UH-ID/HUEY MEDIVAC painted white with a red cross emblazoned on the side flew overhead and landed on the Parade Field and I was awestruck. I volunteered to become a Helicopter Pilot and was accepted during the last weeks of my avionics training. I graduated as a Warrant Officer Helicopter Pilot in December 1969 and in January 1970 shipped out to Vietnam.
I served seven- and one-half years in the Army, during this time I became a dual rated pilot flying both Helicopters and Fixed Wing Aircraft. I was rated in 18 different aircraft. After receiving my degree, I transferred to the Air Force as a Commissioned Officer and began flying in USAF Special Operations with the 20th Special Operation Squadron. In 1984 I was gravely injured when the MH-53H Pave Low I was flying had a catastrophic tail rotor failure when a metal defect caused it to fall off, of the 15 people on my aircraft I was the only one injured. It took 18 months to recover, and I was then assigned to the Pentagon as a Staff Officer. Another surgery forced me to accept my fate as I was too disabled to continue, and I was medically retired in 1987. I worked for Lockheed Martin for 17 years as the Business Development manager for Special Operations training. I retired from Lockheed and began life as a dedicated amateur genealogist and now spend most days and evening adding to my greater family’s genealogical record. I'm married now for 49 years and have two children and five Grandchildren. I work diligently to entice more of my cousins and descendants to join me in this continuous exploration of our ancestors’ lives.

I see you've added a Native American sticker to at least one profile. Please be sure to include some sort of evidence that the person was Native, or had Native origins or heritage. Ideally, we include |tribe= followed by the tribe name.
Thanks.

Congratulations on being Pre-1700 certified!
Based on your pre-1700 ancestors, it looks like you are going to be working on profiles that fall under the England Project. You also expressed an interest in the LDS Project:
http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:England http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:LDS
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordination is essential and project participation is strongly encouraged. You have already added the LDS tag. Check out the project and add the england tag to your profile too. That way you will see their discussions in your G2G Feed and any changes to related pages.
Have questions? Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
Debi ~ Volunteer Coordinator
Let me know if I can help with the wording. Thanks!
If you have not done so already, please set your preferences for your Tags Followed of interest to you to include DNA: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following
If you are adding any DNA test info to profiles on WikiTree, please be sure to add the tests to the actual test participant's profile, and that the Privacy is set to show the participant's Family Tree tab.
We also encourage you to join our Google+ Community for DNA discussions, questions and new information: https://plus.google.com/communities/111329829039015718912
I do have Kelley's, Kelley's, and other Irish family members. I did check on GEDmatch and found that on lower SNPs levels and Cm levels we share chromosomes 1, 7, and 9. And welcome to the Wiki family.
Welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has useful links that will get you started.
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as one collaborative team. (It still amazes me to create a profile, include what little I know about an ancestor, then get a message that a new cousin has added details that I never had a clue about!)
When you confirm your email address, you have an option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree. If you do, you'll be asked to add tags to your profile. (Tags are surnames, locations, concepts, etc. that you'd like to track.)
A greeter will then confirm your membership, and you'll be on your way!
Carole
P.S. I'm always happy to answer questions.
