Biography

Jennie was the second of four children born to John Jordan and Ann E. Dillon. She had one older brother, Grant, born in 1860, one younger sister, Lillie, born in 1863 and one younger brother, Willie, born in 1865.

Jennie's father was a tailor and was the son of Irish immigrants and was born in Pennsylvania. Jennie's mother was a homemaker, raising her children and was born in New York state as were her parents.

Jennie married Louis Stengel Jr. on February 4, 1886 in Davenport Iowa. She and Louis had three children, Louise born in 1886 and an older brother Louis Grant born in 1887 and Charles Dillion, known as Casey, born in 1890. All the children were born in Missouri. Louis worked as a collection agent according to the 1910 US Census.

Jennie died in St. Louis Missouri in February, 1941. She is buried at the Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum in St. Louis.
