Biography

Samuel "Sam" J. Jones was born on 21 January 1880 in Fife Lake Township, Grand Traverse, Michigan, United States to Ambrose Jones and Martha Ingersoll. [1]

In 1880, Sam lived in Orange, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States with parents, sister, and half-siblings. [2]

Sam attended school through fourth grade. [3]

Sam married Irene Morley, daughter of Joseph Morley and Jane McNitt on 26 December 1906 in Kalkaska, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States. He was 26, and she was 21. [4] Their marriage resulted in one known children: Edward Jones.[5] The marriage ended in divorce.

On 12 September 1918, Sam registered for the United States World War I draft. He was living in Wilder, Fergus, Montana, United States, and worked as a carpenter for Grant Smith P. Company. Samuel was described as being of medium height and build with blue eyes and black hair. [6]

In 1920, Sam was living in Grouse Gulch, Phillips, Montana, United States and working as a farmer. His marital status was listed as single. [7]

In 1930, Sam was living in Phillips, Montana, United States where he worked as a farmer. Two boarders lived with him. [8]

In 1935, Sam continued to live in Montana, United States. [9]

In 1940, Sam was living in Grouse Gulch, Phillips, Montana, United States. He worked lived on a sheep ranch where he worked as a ranch hand. [10]
